The Adventures of Lily Raccoon and Peter Pancreas

For this Project I created a children's narrative about being diagnosed with type one diabetes

I created this book for KS1 children, age four to eight

I have grown up with many people in my family being type one diabetic. My younger sibling was diagnosed at age eleven, my younger cousin was seven at the time and didn't really understand what it meant. When we explained it to her in words she could understand, she went on and educated her friends on the playground about type one diabetes.

This shows that young children can engage with 'difficult' topics as long as it is in words they can understand, this is what I aimed to do with this book.
